Title: Alien Cat Nip (Alien food)

I was looking at the aliens pick up weapons mod and thought of a use for alien food.

Step one make alien food sprite and item

step two:   - type: STR_ALIEN_FOOD
    attraction: 10

and put alienfood + proximity mine in the same square ?

But aliens only pick up items if they have no weapons and if no one sees them, right? :(

I wanted to create an alien bait which could be built from alien entertainment, but it's of little use as long as it only works on disarmed aliens.

My original Idea was to use candy as bait, lay out a track of sweets and wait behind a corner armed with a baseball bat until an alien comes by picking it all up. ;D

I think aliens will only look for weapons that were deployed with them, so you can't use your own weapons to bait them.

no, every alien item has an attraction value (and every item CAN have an attraction value). so yes, aliens will come and pick up a plasma rifle that you brought to the fight.

AFAIK aliens only pick up weapons that were dropped in their own turn.

But seriously - it just doesn't work with current code, unless the alien is disarmed. :(
