simple statstring mod adapted from my ancient xcomutil file, by request.
i mostly used it to identify who to fire :)
Cwrd, Weak, Fat, Slow, NoHP, Miss, Dumb - to identify the weaker recruits,
Grunt, Grndr, Soldr, Heavy, Psykr, Mksmn, Scout, Snipr, Super, Elite - for the ones that are worth a damn
-
What does that mode give us?
-
a window into my psyche

some might say you're a terrible person :P

If you're getting attached to your soldiers after they miss 10 times in a row, you're doing it wrong. :P

What about the PSI-stats?
Does the mod show them even then, when you haven`t got PSI uncovered?
-
Ok, I`m missing the possibility, that the stats show me the number of kills.
-
In order to translate... how many character can be used? Five?
-
Doesn't seem to do anything for me. Does in only work when they hit squaddie or something?

No.

I don't think statstrings are translatable (aside from replacing the text wholesale). There's no limit, but the characters used are deducted from the soldier's name. :P

They only update after a mission.

Can that be fixed? Not being able to sort through recruits quickly is my main issue with the game.

What specifically? Only updating after a mission?
That's how it worked in XcomUtil, but if people don't like it we can change it.
-
Well I can't find anyone else complaining about it so presumably not, but I'd like it :D
-
I think there should be an option for statstrings to be applied the second you get the soldier. Personally I like the "after a mission" thing but I don't generally do any type of power-playing where I filter out rookies.
-
Another vote from me, in favor of changing it.
It's not like going on a mission "unlocks" something for the rookies. The moment the recruits arrive at the base, their stats are already there for all to see. Since this is only for convenience, it doesn't make any gameplay sense to withhold the feature until after a mission.
-
They probably did it like that because going on a mission is the only thing that changes soldier stats. :P
Anyways changed.

Hi there,
I think this is my first post (not sure?), so first of all thanks EVERYBODY involved in this project, simpky great.
Now, I am resuming the topic cause I have some problems with statstrings (original, not warboys...but alas).
Basically the 'P' and 'p' (and 'x') chars do appear and disappear seemingly randomly, and they also do NOT appear right away when I recruit a new soldier, even if I already have PSI and the PASI labs in my bases.
I haven't been able to have a 'case'...some solfiers do have the p&x's, other's don't when they should....where should I look to debig the issue?
thanks for any reply and truple kudos!
