Title: [MAPS] Solar's new UFOs

Time for my first ego mod! (I mean, one with my name on it. Because there are many map mods.)

This mod adds 3 new UFOs to the game. They are completely new, not just new maps.

This is the Sentry Ship, a small but reasonably tough opponent. The other two you'll have discover yourself; one is really big (see attachment)!

WARNING: If you're using my Alien Armoury Expanded, this mod will not be compatible; there will be a special version of it added to the next alien Armoury Expanded version.

EDIT: A crash was fixed, file replaced.

EDIT: Map fixes.

EDIT: Updated to the current X-Com version.

Yeah, there's already a bunch of languages with non-English characters.

Now, an update! I added one new ship to the collection. Its story is a bit funny: when I was making the interception picture for the Lab Ship, I made a mistake and made it way too small (16 m across instead of 30). Since making the actual battle map is about as much work as that little picture (well, maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but you get my thinking), I just made a completely new map for that failed pic. Because more UFOs is always better! ;)

The update is in the opening email. Translation updates for the new ship would be nice! :)

When I send a squad to the Excavator (new UFO) crash site, the game crashes to desktop with an error message saying "vector::_M_range_check". I didn´t see it land yet so I can´t tell if its just in case it crash-lands or always.

I'll certainly look into this, but first please tell me: does it work when you try a Quick Battle with this ship? And if you're using the latest nightly?

I've tried doing this with no other mods and it runs fine... We need to get to the bottom of this.

OK, I forgot to remove these lines from the ruleset... :P The readme says the truth though. Follow the glorious readme, not modder's treacherous side notes which he himself forgot about! :P

The fighter ship looks like a very good idea. A well-armed ship (better range than XCOM) with comparitively small crew, so you had better recognize their shape when you get a visual, and wait for them to land.

If you mean using both mods at once, just download the Alien Armoury Expanded mod and it already contains these new ships. :) (Remember to disable this mod when using AAE.)

Thanks, but nothing I can do about it, this bug has been unresolved for months - in short, the user can't delete images. Since you noticed the problem, I uploaded yet another file as a temporary measure, but I can't make it first or delete the corrupted ones.

I'm having the same issue.  I might just have to go hack into the html and see if I can get around the issue some way.

There's an update on the mod site. I plugged some map holes on the Lab Ship and fixed that awful Sentry Ship mess.

EDIT:
Grzegorzj was so kind and fixed some glitches on all maps. Please download the newest version.

Haha I just noticed that the Sentry ship could tessellate easy, you could possibly make a multi-segmented "Worm" UFO with it.

Or you could connect it into a circle and make a belt for poor Orion who can't keep his interstellar pants up. :P

Ha, interesting idea... Or I we could have a 10-story level with 3 Excavators, one on top of the other! :D

Tested the very latest 0.6d, seems sompatible with linux, don't know if it may be compatible with other mods anyway :)

Yeah, I never got around to it. Until now. 8)

EDIT: Animal310 brought my attention to the fact that this mod no longer worked with newer nightlies. Updating the first post with a fixed version.
