Title: Recoverable Armour
Post by: Sectoid_Soldier on May 12, 2014, 09:46:30 pm
It may be possible to make a mod that enables armour from dead troopers to be recovered, and used again.

What do you think?

I think - or actually, I know - that indeed it would be possible.
Thank you, have a nice day. :P

how about you recover the corpses then, depending on what they were wearing, you can "repair"  them with engineers (pretty much like making something except cheaper).  like maybe for "fixing it up" a suit you have to pay 50% of the cost it took to produce it in raw cash, and 25% of the alien alloys and if its powered by elerium, you have to replace all of it because it exploded (or something like that) does that sound good?

I think that's what Falko did, more or less. The only difference is that in his mod, you can wear broken armours.

that doesn't seem like a very good idea considering how many holes the corpses have on them

if one guy died plasma in the left arm the armor could still be good enough to survive a plasma shot in the right leg
if you dont want that dont use damaged armor (to remove the temptation delete the type: "*_REPAIRME" objects from armor list)

Yeah:

1. Sell the human corpses,

2. keep the armour ;)

Selling zombie corpses actually makes sense. I'll see if it can be enabled.

problem is getting zombie corpses (without modding away the nostun,death=chrysalid-thing)

Perhaps the body would be left behind after spawning the Chryssalid?

It would be better to play as the Aliens.

I agree

Research zombi corpse and zombi live could be an ufopedia  improvement to do something other after

such as stun gas ammo for granate lancer as example
