Title: [WEAPON] Laser Rifle Recolor

I made this purely for myself but figured I might as well upload it in case someone else might enjoy it. I never understood why the Laser Rifle didn't match the other laser weapons. Figured I'd try my hand at some minor modding and see if I could rectify that.

Big Object, Floor Object, and Hand Objects all recolored. No stats on the weapon have been altered.

Download at the mod site: https://www.openxcom.com/mod/laser-rifle-recolor (https://www.openxcom.com/mod/laser-rifle-recolor).

To install, using the 0.9 Nightly build, place the 'Laser_Rifle_Recolor.rul' file into the 'Ruleset' folder. Then place the 'murmursLaserRifle' folder into the 'Resources' folder. Finally, enable the mod in the options menu.

Enjoy your matching laser weapons!

EDIT: Also, if you're into laser weapons, check out my other mod that rebalances the Heavy Laser: https://www.openxcom.com/mod/heavy-laser-rebalance (https://www.openxcom.com/mod/heavy-laser-rebalance). It basically makes the differences between the Heavy Laser and the Laser Rifle quite similar to the differences between the Plasma Rifle and the Heavy Plasma. It's such a small tweak I didn't think it deserved it's own thread, so I tagged it on here.

Yea, that always bugged me! It is also a nice alternative to Cico's nice laser weapon replacement.

I like it. Installed.

Tip: Rebuild the zip file, so that it is ordered like PowerSuitHelmOff (https://openxcom.org/forum/index.php?topic=1638.0). That way it is much simpler to just unpack it directly into the 'data' folder, instead of having to manually copy 'Laser Rifle Recolor\Laser_Rifle_Recolor.rul' into the 'data\Ruleset' folder, and 'Laser Rifle Recolor\murmursLaserRifle' into the 'data\Resources' folder.

looks really good, much more like something the military would use :) perhaps the pistol and heavy laser should also have these little color patches?

Could we also get some recolors in the opposite direction? I rather like the color scheme of the original Laser rifle, and it would help differentiate the pistol from the plasma pistol a bit more.

Check Awesomeguns.Laser for a more up to date version with more variations, including handobs. It is available on the forum (https://openxcom.org/forum/index.php?topic=4823.0).
