Hey, i have x-com ufo defense on Steam but when i play openxcom, it doesnt work with Steam and game time i've played doesn't register. Is there a way to play and register it on Steam?

openxcom has nothing to do with steam.
all openxcom does is use the X-Com: UFO Defense files for the resources.
...why would you want to register it on Steam, anyway? ???

Ok, thanks but i found out the solution.
- I downloaded the zip file of openxcom.
- Copy everything to the steam folder of xcom.
- Copy everything in xcom folder of steam folder to data folder.
- Change the openxcom.exe to dosbox.exe
This way it registers the time you've played on steam. It may not be important for many people but people like me might enjoy it.

You can also just add it as a non-Steam game, though replacing original X-COM has the advantage of publishing screenshots and such.
To be able to use the Steam overlay, you need to use an OpenGL Display Filter in the Options.

This is a great idea, and it worked well for me for UFO Defense.
However, when I tried to do the same thing for Terror from the Deep, when trying to launch the game Steam told me that the executable is missing. If I tried again, it downloaded the original files again. Any ideas, anyone?
EDIT: I see the problem. I deleted the original content of the folder first, which was a mistake. If I leave everything there and just overwrite with the openxcom contents, it works.

Also when using the non-steam game option, steam does not seem to track the time you play openxcom. I use it as non steam game all the time. Well correction I play the openexcom extended for x-piratez
