Title: When creating new maps are corner pieces only cosmetic?

When creating new maps are corner pieces only cosmetic or will corners without them have gaps that can be seen and shot through?

Depends on the MCD, really.

In case of these tiles, the walls seem to block the entire side, so corners wouldn't be necessary to block view.

pretty sure that the OxC engines successfully block view between diagonally touching LoFTs (unlike the original XCOM).

But I believe it's good policy to 'cap off' corners for other reasons that i forget ...
