Hello,
I am one of the graphic artists of ufo:tts project.
Well I guess its time to pass these stuff on so maaaybe you can finish the job.
These graphics consists of blood, sweat, hard work and damaged eyes.
So I hope you will take care of them good and improve upon.
Thanks to the other art contributors, I believe they will agree with the decision
and michal who reminded me about the graphics. :)

wow!!! just wow
That is a very nice gesture. Is this artwork provided as opensource, freeware, or are you giving permission to use the art? :)
I think everyone in this project will thank you greatly.

You can do whatever you want with them. A credit would be nice to see of course.
Source files are in psd format. I actually made some action files too which can place the tiles or make an alpha channel auto etc, but couldn't find them yet.
I remember you from back then. Asked for these twice right?:) So here you go. I hope these stuff will motivate the guys who are thinking about to start a project.

That's really awesome. I hope this marks the beginning of a complete set of free-licensed hires graphics for this project, because that would be REALLY amazing.

I didn't think any one would remember little old me :) i really just helped a tiny bit if that :S, I think this team will really be thankful for these. If i could code i wouls have taken them already :D.
I know the team here will most definitely give you credit for your amazing work. Hope you stick around.

wow, that is really cool :)
there's so much work behind these graphics, I don't know how to say "thank you" enough :D

For me it doesn't look like "derived". It only visually looks the same, but if you look closer, it become obvious that it was drawn from scratch. Really good work. Cheers, Rom.

Great thanks! UFO:TTS was absolutely awesome, but had lack of "openness". With these it even could be fixed.

So when will we see these in the graphics options in our game?

a few or this graphics are far too close to the original and to prevent the issue of possible copyright i think we will never see it in the official branch.
HOWEVER :)
other people (myself) included are working towards making the game with a little improved resolution and as such this sprites could be used.
No this is not the start of a copyright argument, i think we all had enough of them already :S
-
btw,
i made 3D pixel editor that generates similar graphics but there is no way of copyright because technique is very different. Maybe it could be used ?

one year later (but this thread is a sticky, so it´s not a bump or grave-digging), any info on that?

Well the problem is not that simple since myself i am not a programmer and any work done in the main code needs to be recheck, further more from v .9 to v 1.0 changes are drastic, and like i said i do not know if anyone else is doing any work at one point many were interested, but translating that to actual work has not occurred. So now i am taking it very slow and see if i can continue to do my higher resolution mod.

Is anyone else working on the code now?

The site doesn't exist anymore :(
Has anyone saved the rar?

WOW! That is a lot of XCOM graphics remastered! Would be cool to see it supported by OpenXCOM, even if by some hack at first.
