Title: Operation Names (updated january 2nd)
Post by: new_civilian on December 10, 2019, 02:24:33 pm
I started making a RUL file with Operation Names for OXCE. I tried to avoid any problematic words, but still, consider this a first version.
To make the names appear you will have to use OXCE and simply put the file into your mods ruleset folder.

As always my files are free to take, hf!

update january,2nd

Interesting, would you mind posting some actual results as examples?

HELPFUL DEFENDER
BRAVE WARRIOR
MARTIAN THUNDER
TERRAN BATTLE
JOLLY COMMANDER

etc. etc. etc.

I tried to avoid anything funny and used words from real US operations like Enduring Freedom and things like that. Watched several military documentations and noted own words used... ::)

So it's string 1 + string 2? Or just one string of two words?

It can be either, check for operationNamesFirst and operationNamesLast in the ruleset reference. Also here's the thread where Meridian posted his test ruleset: https://openxcom.org/forum/index.php/topic,6420.msg116906.html#msg116906

Oh... I somehow missed this feature. Thanks!

Another Update. Removed 2 words, added several others, corrected some alphabetical order issues.
I think this is the final version I'll release, it should produce some pretty solid, stable and clean operationnames.
My main goal was to avoid anything problematic or funny. I hope I succeeded. :)
