No, if the aliens defeat you, the game ends.
-
What if you win? :) Can you play on forever?
-
Read the first two posts please, or try it yourself... I'm quite tired of answering trivial questions because someone is too lazy to read.
-
Okay, I came to the conclusion now that this is not what I believe.
I thought the title “multiple game ending” allowed multiple type of game ending. Which means a player can continue on and then played another ending later.
However, this is only for cutscenes. Sorry, I can’t come to that conclusion earlier, because of my confusion with the title of this post and what it’s content is.

It does allow multiple types of endings!
What exactly is the definition of your "ending that doesn't end the game"?
Isn't that just a cutscene? With a cutscene you can play "your thing, whatever it is" and continue with next "your other thing".
-
Alright! I understand each ending has a cut scene. Multiple game ending, win or lose has their own cut scenes. However, my own assumption and maybe a lack of certain details, has lend me to believe this feature allows for continuation after game ends and you can play endings for a different UFO mod.
Currently, I have both UFO and TFTD ending loaded in my mod. I want ending for one can continue to the other. I am trying to find a way to make it work.
Anyway that’s something for another topic.
Sorry for my confusion.

Sorry, but that doesn't make ANY sense.
There is no such thing as "ending which doesn't end".
This has nothing to do with xcom... it's what the word "end" means.
For example when you die, your life ends... and when your life ends... you cannot live again (and die again).
What is your native language if I may ask?
Maybe you can just write your question in your native language and I will translate it using google translator... might help.

There is nothing stopping you from doing that.
You can have a Cydonia mission WHICH DOESN'T END THE GAME and continue playing and then have the T'Leth mission.
That was possible btw. even before this feature was implemented.
-
If it helps, I don't understand either.
I can come up with several assumptions, but they will be just that - assumptions...
Apollyon, maybe you could describe your exact plans? Like, what do you want to do? Then someone could just tell you how to do that, if possible...
-
“What is your native language if I may ask?

I understand you are frustrated. However, this has nothing to do with barriers in communication or languages. It is more to do with the barriers of the internet. Words do not often replace in full sometimes, of the full details which we seek to impart to others. Interpretation can be lost and that is why I ask.
Anyway, I believe we both have different point of views, when it comes to game designs. I have played open world games where there’s an ending to its story. Yet, after the ending the game allows you to continue on till your heart content. Skyrim, Fallout 3 and 4 are good examples. I done modding for all three games.
UFO and TFTD does present those possibilities, if you ignore their vanilla ending.
The End can be the story ending, but how you choose to play and enjoy an open world game after its story ends. It’s the freedom of choice.

I don't want to criticize your English skills; I am also not a native English speaker and my English is far far from perfect.
But there is definitely a big language barrier here... no reason to deny it.

OpenXcom supports ending of a story (which is different from game ending).

You don't have to ignore the vanilla ending.
OpenXcom allows you to have vanilla "story ending", which does not end the game.
But if you do that it will not be a game ending anymore, but a story ending or cutscene ending or whatever you want to call it.
The End can be the story ending, but how you choose to play and enjoy an open world game after its story ends. It’s the freedom of choice.
OpenXcom fully supports this type of play too.
You can play after Cydonia/T'Leth... you don't even need OpenXcom Extended for that... OpenXcom 1.0 supports it too.

Native or not, we all use the language. Some are better in the mastery of it than others. Those whom are not, it is worthwhile to have compassion and consideration, while investing the extra time and patience to dissect the truth of the meaning from the sentences of those whom has a lesser mastery of it.
In communicating your ideas to others, like you want 100% of it to be absorb by your listeners. You need both the body and verbal components of a language. On the internet, on forums, there is always the dangers of miscommunication.
I can’t claim I mastered English. However, with me typing on a phone and fatigue from a long day at work. My own concentration is not always 100% when I am on the forums.

Back to original topic:
I have split this into a separate thread, as it had nothing to do with my thread about multiple endings.
As for your questions: "Is it possible to continue playing after Cydonia/T'Leth?"
The answer is: YES.
"Can you play on forever?"
The answer is: YES.

I have moved this message to the help section for better classification.
