Title: [Rejected] AI-controlled player units
Post by: wcho035 on August 31, 2019, 07:28:19 am
Rejection reason: this is beyond/outside the scope of OXCE

Hey guys

This is another idea I have long wanted in xcom, the hiring of mercenaries. These merc, just like the regular soldiers you hire with the randomly generated stats and names. It will have a tag in the codes
Mercenary=yes. The main difference with these soldiers, they are A.I control soldiers on your side. They will probably have higher stats, use their own weapons or they pick the best items you have.

You can tell them where to go in a map , but the rest, the fire control and actions are more self autonomous and their reliability depends on payment and morale.  Higher payment = higher morale.

If possible, you hire whole units like 3-5 and they don’t have soldiers diary, they have similarity to HWPS.

Main advantage is they have better stats, equipment and morale on hire.

Not possible at the moment.
Not interested in such a feature from my side.

This will require lot of code to handle correctly, and as it critical part to make it work other wise it be useless.
