Title: Not possible to use Alien weapons

Why isn't it possible to use any alien weapons, but an alien laser rifle (they even can't be researched)?

This is clearly about some mod. Why isn't this in the appropriate mod section? But more importantly, how would we know which mod you're referring to? We're not clairvoyants.
