Title: Alien bleeding disabled by default?
Post by: Caleb13 on July 08, 2016, 01:19:37 am
I've reported bug(s) regarding alien fatal wounds (Bug report #1248). However, I'm rather curious why is this setting disabled by default in OpenTFTD? Aliens died of fatal wounds all the time in the original TFTD...

Really? Eh, I've been using TFTDextender and other Windows patches for so long that I've forgotten these details.  :-\ Sorry.

Anyway, have you determined whether unconscious aliens actually bleed? Because I realized that I MC most aliens before they fall unconscious - my favorite trick is to MC ones with disruptor pulse launchers and then make them shoot into wall, preferably to catch others into the blast. Thus I'm not sure whether the aliens didn't bleed because they counted as MC'd while uncounscious or whether it was a separate bug.

Yes, they do. Otherwise it would be too easy to take prisoners, I guess. :)

Ah, I just noticed that OpenTFTD doesn't play death sounds when unconscious aliens die at the end of the turn. Oh well.

While a nifty extra bit of information for the player, it made little sense. If you bleed out while unconscious, why would you scream?
