Title: New Nightlies: openxcom or opentftd
Post by: Almoorn on February 11, 2016, 02:09:22 am
Hi, do the new nightly releases focus on opentftd or they still change the openxcom as well?

Huh?

OXC is an engine that supports both game versions, so the focus is on the X-Com experience in general, not in particular on any of the two.

yeah, basically what kkmic said. as far as we're aware, all of the TFTD-specific functionality is already in place, and anything we do from here affects both games simultaneously, since they're both effectively "master mods" for the engine. if there IS something that affects one specifically, it wouldn't adversely affect the other, if anything, it would benefit - as is the case with UFO auto-recovery and right clicking to open doors.  if that's your concern, rest assured.

that being said, however... yes, adjustments for tftd have been our primary focus for some time, as xcom has been "finished" since 1.0.

My impression is, the project is pretty much "done" in the sense that everything from the original games is implemented. Now they just do sugarcoating by implementing new features.
