1. Move MAX_VIEW_DISTANCE from code to config
2. Tweak AI to indirect suppression fire.
3. Fair AI without direct getting player units positions

If this was xenonauts maybe what said would make sense

What makes you think OpenXcom doesn't have this ?

After turn 20 the AI knows the locations of all your units. Which is quite handy to prevent battles from taking too long.

Also after detection xcom agent AI knows his location n turns.

Is there a difference between units seen and this turn 20-location (which I presume as »is exactly there«, not just »last time seen at ...«

I'm pretty sure that while the aliens remember a soldier, they don't remember his "last seen at" position, they remember his "psychic presence", which allows them to tell his exact position, attack him with psi, and throw a grenade at him. The only thing they can't do without actually seeing the target again is shoot (which IMO they should be able to do with an aimed shot but it might be too nasty to get sniped at by the aliens.. I don't know.. would be a good counter to the scout and snipe tactics many players use)

just set all the alien's intelligence values to 0 or 1 and they'll forget about you really quickly. the turn 20 thing is to try and force a resolution to the battle instead of letting it draw out.
