Title: Custom difficulty setting?

Would it be possible to have a custom difficulty setting (How many aliens are on the battlescape, alien stats, alien deployment, UFO Firing rate, minimum score for the Council to shut down XCOM)?

If you ask if OpenXcom developers will do it for you, then the answer is no ;-)

If you ask, if it is possible to mod the game to change these parameters, then the answer is yes.

It is definitely possible to mod:
- number of aliens in craft (=alien deployment)
- alien stats
- UFO firing rate
- and many many MANY more things...

Minimum score to lose the game is "hardcoded"... but if you can read C++ at least a little bit, you could build your own version... the change would be very small (one line in MonthlyReportState.cpp)

You can put on financial constrains, lowering the mone you get, or make wages higher etc..
Make a proper research tree, demand live Alien cptures and so on... lot's of possibilities.

If you like you like you can give my Mod a try, it should be way harder then vanilla.
