I just had a Terror Site where one of my soldiers walks out of the Skyranger on the first turn, moves next to a Chryssalid and the alien reaction attacks my soldier and turns him into a zombie.
Is this normal? I have saves of the game before the soldier moves and after he got zombified.

"Reaction melee" was added long ago. The news for v0.9 indicate the Reapers can do it.

Ah ok, thanks. Does it also works with Stun Rods?

Reaction move would be nice :D .

I can speak from personal experience, yes it works with stun rods. Came as a total surprise really. Be aware of the Reactions stat, your soldiers are far less likely to reaction-prod someone than a Chryssalid is to reaction attack.

LOL. I was thinking more about UFO fighting actually.

Lol.
*Hapless trooper sneaks up on Chrysalid and pokes it with stunrod*
*Chrysalid gets startled, turns around and jabs it's zombie maker in said hapless trooper* XD

On a side note, have they made Cryssalids fair (meaning, they have to kill a unit actually to zombify it) or is it like vanilla (no matter what happens, if Cryssalid attacked a unit, when it stops attacking unit will be zombified)?

AFAIK Chryssalid must deal damage for zombification to work, though it's not exactly a problem for Chryssalids. :)

Which is exactly what I was referring to. If you've got a guy with a prod standing next to a door, and an alien walks through the door on their turn, all the usual reactions math happens. If your troopers Reactions stat isn't high enough, he'll stand there like a moron, while the alien will probably turn him into swiss cheese.
