Title: crash-site equipment

Original Xcom Question: I have always wandered whether equipment left on the ground during a mission was scooped up after the mission was completed (if you won that is).
Does anyone know?

My guess is that alien corpses were but weapons weren't?

i assume they are as i have never picked up alien artefacts unless i needed the ammo . There was always something there to sell after each mission so im thinking yes.

Alien stuff is definitely picked up, yes. It also shows up in the debriefing screen as "Alien Artifacts" and gives you points.

Funny thing is, if I remember correctly, you only get points for recovering "artifacts" - that is, unresearched alien stuff. as soon as it is researched, you no longer get the points for recovering it. you still get the item, though.
