I'm putting together a mod set and I was wondering, can we allow medics to use the med-kit on themselves? You know, without handing it to someone else....
-
It's funny how they swapped this in Apocalypse, first time I played it I almost got an agent bled to death wondering why my other agent wasn't healing him.

Haha, same here.
I think it should be possible, but less efficient, HP-wise. In other words, exactly how they did it in the UNIMOD (https://ufogr.com/en/install/).
-
Seconded, there should be an (alternate) option to "use" the medicine on oneself, especially if the healing is some form of hypo-injection... winners say no to drugs, but what about when humanity's fate is at stake? :)
-
What I had in mind wasn't drugs technically, but yeah, a second option to heal yourself would solve a lot .
So it isn't possible currently? >_<
-
So, any chance we can have this implemented?
I guess it requires some work as you'd need to be able to choose if you use it on yourself or something else.

Not neccessarily. There is a soldier in front of the medic => that soldier is the target. No one is in front of the medic => the medic himself is the target. You need some private space for this kind of stuff you know, can't do it with people pushing your elbow.

Pushing elbows? I gave up on the concept more than a month ago, as far as I'm concern, if I can't get results with the current set of rules & tools given, it means giving up and moving on something that can actually work. >_<

I think there has been a slight misunderstanding: I was just offering a lame explanation for the limitation of the most easily implementable solution (the limitation being that the medic would not be able to choose to heal himself as long as there is a soldier in front of him.)

Oh man, just mind controlled a muton to heal one of my soldiers with a medkit.. For some reason it can't recognize the guy.....

Sir, you are a twisted, sick person. :P

Game breaking yes... but it would be nice to have it. Maybe if there was a psi skill improvement system... Maybe overpowering stuff should only be had when your psi skill reaches... 103 maybe... I'm still in my first playthrough of OpenXcom and having fun with 250 soldiers....

Well I guess someone would need to change some code to enable this ::)
I still think it would be hilarious as it would enable to use different sort of food you could eat - with varying effects.

I have opened a Feature Request:
