Title: [Suggestion] Option to hide current month from the graphs
Post by: Delian on February 15, 2025, 12:52:31 pm
It's common knowledge that graphs can make certain aspects of the game trivial. Therefore, I suggest adding a new geoscape setting:

"Show current month in graphs"
with options:
- Always
- Except when Superhuman or Ironman (default)
- Never

This is just a lose-lose-lose scenario for me.

I'm not making any modder happy, afaik.

I can't make this hardcoded, because of vanilla. And without hardcoding, it has practically zero effectiveness.

Players who know how to turn it off, will just turn it off instantly.
Players who don't know how to turn it off will just ask others, most likely me, how to turn it off...useless waste of time for me and for them.
Plus they'll hate me by default.

I think most players wouldn't touch this option because it won't affect them, because most of them don't play on superhuman. And people who do play on superhuman should find no reason to complain, since it makes for a better challenge. Considering the Ironman option exists, and there are people who like to turn it on, it makes it reasonable that this option should also exist.

I politely disagree with everything you said in the last post.

But I'll keep this here for a month or so to see if anybody's even remotely interested.

Looks like a decent suggestion. It's nearly impossible to lose in some mods on any difficulty as long as you don't give up and know what you're doing. Part of which is keeping the score alive. This change could introduce an element of paranoia and spice things up a bit.
