I'm in 2001 right now and have unlocked plasma weaponry, fusion bombs and all that stuff but I can't get the research train for cybernetic implants and non crap armor to show up, I currently have the power armor at home version that magma can sell to me but I want real power suits. I can't get it I think because the mission for magma lab zombie outbreak isn't popping up anymore. I've already done that mission once but I only got battered zombie trooper corpses and maybe I captured the right ones alive or something. I saw somewhere that mission is supposed to repeat but it's been a year and a half in game since I got it, is there any way I can fix this? am I just extremely unlucky?

I've had exactly same thing. Once you've finished the mission, it won't spawn again.
So no, you can't get corresponding researches anymore. I suggest editing the trooper corpse into your savegame. The saves `.sav` usually lie in OXCE/user/x-com-files folder. Open your save with a text editor, find within:
bases:
items:
and add this line: STR_ZOMBIE_TROOPER_CORPSE: 1
I'm assuming you didn't actually get and research trooper's corpse. That's the only thing needed for implant.
It's also possible you've hidden some research - check hidden researches tab.

Sorry if I'm being dumb, but I don't really understand the issue. What is STR_ZOMBIE_TROOPER_CORPSE needed for? I mean, it's needed for the zombie implant, but that seems unrelated (as you should have multiple corpses from the first M.A.G.M.A. mission anyway).

There is something missing and/or wrong in the OP description. There is no such thing as "battered zombie trooper corpses", which the OP claims to have aplenty - the battered zombie troopers just drop zombie trooper corpses, which is what you need and are clear if you have one. You can capture battered zombie troopers, but they are not useful for anything. The more likely cause here could be the research is hidden.
The problem mentioned by Stone Lake can (rarely) occur though. If you successfully finish the mission, it won't spawn anymore. If all the corpses got caught in explosions, or if you sold the corpses by mistake, tough luck. Or if you only captured live ones, because the mod settings won't allow you to kill live prisoners to get their corpses.

Yeah I captured them alive then, I go out of my way to capture the ones I haven't seen before, research isn't hidden. Thank you for the save file tip, I got an error about tabbing but I was able to replace something else for the zombie trooper corpse thank you so much for such a quick response too, you guys.
