There's been a UFO-defense and old-school 4x games inspired indie project in the making, of which you can see the current build:

It's a game aimed at those, who wish more out of gaming, and not just a mindless grind (especially on mobile).

The game now has entered its post-production phase, see attached video and images, and is aiming for a release in the not so distant future.
