STR_ALIEN_WEAPON_TECH_UFOPEDIA: The superficial examination of a captured alien weapon did not show any obvious activation mechanism. A closer look reveals a complex circuitry that appears to act as the trigger, as well as possibly as a kind of aiming system. Instead of relying on a mechanical or electrical system that requires an activation by any kind of appendage, the system appears to rely on an activation signal read from the brain-waves of the user. While the circuitry is too complex to allow re-programming for a human user, we should be able to bypass it by installing a simple button-trigger. STR_ALIEN_WEAPON_TECH_II_UFOPEDIA: Our research of the alien mind probe device has led to further insights about the technology that allows the aliens to interface with their weapons. The alien weapon trigger mechanism utilizes a circuitry very similar to the mind probe, relaying not only the activation command from the user to the weapon, but also actively helping the user in acquire the target and leading the shot for moving targets. While we are still unable to manufacture the complex design of either the mind probe or the weapon mechanism, we are now able to re-wire parts of the mind probe to work as a weapon activation and targeting system. STR_ELERIUM_PLASMA_TECH_UFOPEDIA: Further research into the element known as Elerium-115 and its use in the alien weapons has given us insight in its matter-to-energy conversion process. With the right kind of stimulation, the small amounts of Elerium-115 in the alien plasma weapon ammunition are fully self-sufficient plasma generators, providing the energy for the plasma creation as well as the gravity field for containment and acceleration. With our new knowledge, we are now capable of manufacturing the ammunition from the raw materials. STR_ELERIUM_FUSION_TECH_UFOPEDIA: Using a previously unknown effect, Elerium-based fusion devices are capable of generating and releasing intense bursts of energy. The gravity waves emitted by the Elerium-115 reaction are channeled and reflected by carefully arranged layers of alien alloys, resulting in a fold in space-time akin to a very strong but short-ranged gravity field. This field ignites a fusion reaction before suddenly collapsing and releasing the violent energies. This effect allows for incredibly effective explosive devices. STR_ELERIUM_GRAVITY_TECH_UFOPEDIA: Further research of the interaction of Elerium-115 with the alien alloy structures inside a UFO power source has revealed remarkable insights. The physics of gravity-wave creation and manipulation are far from being fully understood by us, but we are capable of replicating the effects.
