Title: Load game at battlescape options
Post by: nullzero on July 26, 2012, 10:44:14 pm
Not that I wan't that much to be flagged as a cheater, but having a load button at the battlescape options menu would really help. Sometimes you load the wrong save and have to abort the mission, go pass the 'terrible' debriefing, go to geoscape, options, just to load the game again, when a simple load button could easily fit on the game options.

 ;D

*cough* *cough*

I too think it's more user friendly to have a load option there. It hasn't anything to do with cheating. Especially when testing something in the battlescape and want to reload a lot of times it's very annoying to have to go via the debriefing screen and geoscape each time.

This is cost of every reload. Pain is payment for God powers :D

Adding load game button is another point Openxcom can do but the Ufoextender cannot.

This is a good example of UI improvement!

Yeah, a "Load Game" option directly from the battlescape would be nice to have.

Been there, done that.... quite A LOT of times I could say :)

I'm also in favor of that. If somebody doesn't like it, he will just have to keep his mouse pointer away from that button :) or perhaps the button could be hidden by choosing "ironman" mode... along with the save button. instead, you just get a "quit" button which saves and quits the game... :)

I like that ironmode idea!

To prevent careless player like me from annoying, I suggest to add a dialog "loading game will loss the current game progress".  This friendly reminder will pop up after pressing the load game button. Is it difficult to implement?

I like that ironmode idea!

well, it's also blatantly stolen from XCOM:Enemy Unknown :P

Or Xenonauts. :P Ironman mode is nothing new.

it would be nice to allow changing the sound volume from the battlescape options menu, too... perhaps even a button that leads you to a similar screen like the "options" screen accessible from the startup menu?

I think there should be "global" options menu, accessed from geoscape and from battlescape as well.
