I'd like to see how good iam after beat the game. So the idea is:

Like the other games that have leaderboard, after u beat the game, the game will ask you to save your game, or autosaved if u play ironman. Then that save file will display your specific score + overall score + Top 10 best soldier (+ how many they kill aliens/teammates/civilians + what equipments they used + stats) + memorial + what difficulty are u played and display all the bases.

So players can compete each other and show off their score.

Hmm, I normally just build in Europe because it covers lots of funding countries

That's one of the reason random world would be interesting. And of course random nation too.

Is it possible to randomize the geoscape map maybe like the "civilization" so the map can be generated like desert planet, Ice planet, Or barren planet. Because some people will do same strategy over and over again like build first base in central asia second base in USA. Also this will make more variety of the map like 60% desert, 20% jungle, 10% snow, 10% others. So the first base they usually surrounded by hill or jungle or something will be different.

CoolKid, does it look okay in windowed mode? If it does, you can turn on Borderless in the options.ini with your monitor's resolution to get it 'fullscreen' if you want.

Seems it does. And for borderless, do u mean stretched without black band? I prefer with border anyway :)

Its not only for windows 7. Im using windows XP. And i think it has nothing to do with catalyst beta drivers. And u can run the game without any graphic card. I think this because of the color depth OXC used are 16 bit or below and this will interfere the game if u play in fullscreen (im not quite sure though :P).

So the problem is in the geoscape screen. I suggest patch ur copy of original X-COM DOS version or use the pc complete edition.

So did u have no problem played in windowed screen?

What filter u currently used? If u used Open GL and the graphic didnt appear then ur pc might not support that. Did u ever tried it without filter?

Again about AI problem.
I experienced the alien who has blaster launcher Blow themself up. This make nearby aliens are also DEAD :o. This happen often when im attacking alien base. Please fix this.

EDIT: It seems happen when aliens tried to guide the missile through the grav lift. Im not entirely sure though.

go into the options and change the Video Filter to one of the OpenGL ones.

I tried to use all the Open GL and they gave me the white screen. Thankfully this can be restored by editing conf file in my document\openxcom. I think my ancient laptop cant support Open GL :'(

After getting game over several times because of score in superhuman difficulty. I need fresh air.
I try this game. And strangely enough this game very addicting for me (or it just me?).
But trust me this game is %#@#$& HARD. It so unfair we just have only 8 units at all times and aliens unit are SO MANY and they have ridiculously high reaction fire. Even if i have latest tech equipment i keep getting murdered aliens are over flowing no idea how to win this game even on EASY. But this really fun and this really a good game for me.

Well what u guys think about this game?

Also please tell me if u guys know how to disable score game over. Maybe in the ruleset or savefile. Because I need that for my superhuman run ;D.

I got it! Thanks for the information :).

But this condition is really bugging me:

no, they only try to pick up a weapon under the following conditions:

1: either they have no weapon, or no ammo for their weapon.
2: they cannot be seen by any enemy.
3: they have enough space in their inventory to actually carry it.
4: they are not a terrorist.

Especially number 2 that mean alien never ever pickup items when enemy see them. Am i right? ;)

So how to ignore the condition number 2?
