RIP preprimed grenades for grenadiers.

Well, that's unfortunate.

On the other hand, if the engagement is going to be in close combats (say before entering a UFO). I usually make my soldiers um-prime the grenades.

...so, how should this vehicle be called after all?

Well, the UFOpedia image is from a Jeep Cherokee XJ from late 1990s.  So, a bland name for the string could be "LUXURY-SUV".

However this is a very American vehicle. I don't know if this is iconic enough for the rest of the world.

Alternatively, a Range/Land Rover can be used as well. In fact, I think now that's the vehicle used for the vehicle terrain (Land Rover Defender). So for comparison I attach these as well.

Looks more like a pickup to me... But I am open to changes here.

A typical pickup body, even like one with a cargo shell, does have a vertical gap that separates the cabin from the cargo (with shell). The battlescape vehicle doesn't have such gap. Moreover, the renders of the interior appear a single continuous area, thus suggesting it's a SUV and not a Pickup Truck with a shell.

I can't quite pin point which model was used to create the vehicle terrain item, but it comes close to a 1990s Cherokee XJ model. The UFOpedia picture doesn't quite match the image of the battlescape vehicle. So, I'm attaching a image that could replace the UFOpedia one if so desired.

Guys, you can use a goddamn helicopter for the Surftime mission. Not to mention the pickup.

Since the missions that require the Helicopter or the Pickup also use specific weapon subsets, they can be launched from secondary bases.

By the way, why the Pickup is called as such, when it's more of a SUV?

There were several requests made by different people with the same idea on multiple threads. Unfortunately, if it's done in a way that is at least mildly realistic, it requires important changes to the code.

I know in some countries in Latin America, "el comisario" o Commissar is the Police Chief of the police station (or "comisarĂ­a"). It's a title rather than a rank.
In the same note, an Army's "el comandante" or Commander, is the position of the Executive Officer of a Battalion or similar sized unit. The position is usually filled by a Lieutenant Coronel, so much that they are often called as such instead of LtCol.

Other than a cruiser (battleship in Vanilla), my typical strike craft wing consist of 02 Barracudas each with:
- 02 lascannon
- 01 tesla gun (or another lascannon)
- 01 small shield (or another lascannon).

They pretty much take care of everything and don't use a lot of resources, unlike other light guns that use ammo.

Later in the game I replace or build Sabres, and use meteor missiles to handle even the largest ships.

I noticed my Gnome gals have pretty interesting stats.

Spoiler:
They have a huge bravery % (like 200% or so). They also have a high Psi resistance. Therefore they are perfect for piloting the XEC Exorcist and firing its Dead Ray.

So about that $1B purchase...

I was bit disappointed. "The World Is Yours" was just for bragging rights  :D
I spend in-game years of fully staffed 400+ runt factories chunking out fake $100 chips to get the cash.
I was expecting some sort of unique tech, or maybe a fully size Conqueror  ;D. Instead I got only 2,000 infamy points and a trophy with a $1 resale value.
(It's not a criticism at all, BTW)

In my current campaign, for melee, IIRC nothing beats the Vibro Axe. If something compact is needed, then the shockafist is very useful.

Not to abuse Meridian's kindness, but I have another request (previously asked) :) :
  - An option for transfer the loot after a battle (like the sell button but for transfer).

Currently this screen is triggered only when there is no room at the craft's original base. I don't know if the game code would allow that feature to work with the existing "sell" mechanic. I can see myself selling the loot and transfer the rest for some missions.

As for the missing strings, it should not happen in j17 anymore - maybe it's just russian version being outdated?

As others pointed out, it seems the latest OXCE fixed the missing strings I encountered.
