Title: "Full screen mode" has different colors than "windowed mode"
Post by: clownagent on October 01, 2016, 11:16:41 pm
When I switch between "full screen mode" and "windowed mode" the cursor and text color changes slightly (vanilla UFO 1, newest nightly).

This is most obvious when scrolling through the ufopedia.
In windowed mode: The cursor and text color is always the same.
In full screen mode: The cursor and text changes color between the different ufopedia sections.
(It seems windowed mode works fine and full screen mode is bugged)

Does this happen only on my PC, or does someone else observe the same effect?

The cursor is slightly different for pedia articles based on battlepedia palette and other palettes I think.
Text color is obviously different, not sure what you mean...

Can you provide some screenshots?

I mean the cursor and text change color when I switch between "windowed mode" and "full screen mode".
It looks like the palette is slightly shifted between both modes, since some menus are also a little darker in windowed mode.

If I take screenshots with F12, all of them look like taken in windowed mode. (So a screenshot taken with F12 in fullscreen mode looks a bit different than what I see actually on the screen).

Your computer likely doesn't emulate old 256-color rendering anymore. Switch to OpenGL rendering (Options > Display Filter > Raw) and it should fix itself.

That fixed the color issue.

Mouse movement and some animations are now quite slow, but I probably have to live with that.
