Open Feedback / Question regarding mid-to-late game
« on: September 28, 2022, 03:33:32 pm »
Hello.
I love the game, even when it actively hates me by pelting me with bad RNG, however after getting pretty much everything sans the alien ranks to unlock the final mission, things get a bit dull with having to visit every Crash Site and such, especially when I lose a good soldier when trying to recover a small scout.

Do I have to recover every crashed UFO or does shooting it down already counts toward the score? Do Terror Missions still happen if I down the Terror Ship and ignore the remains?

This is exactly what I was looking for . I honestly can't thank you enough. Very grateful to you.
No prob, and don't mind Solarius's attitude, he's the forum's grandpa

Wow. You know what bothers me most about your reply ? I totally idolize your mods and your work. Yet you talk down to me like I'm an idiot.
There are no install instructions for "final_mod_pack_extended_1.0.6". The read me file only shows change log details (no install instructions).

Some of us are new at this. I'll figure it out on my own.

Hello, don't know if you managed it to make it work but, for the mod to work properly you need both Final Mod Pack and Final Mod Pack Extended in the same folder where you keep your mods, it should look like this

To get to Mars, you will need to fly to the moon and complete about 5 missions, each of which starts once a month (if you're lucky). However, in order to get to the moon, you need to interrogate special ethereals, and they will appear at least a year after the alien invasion. Even if you are ready to fly to Mars, be prepared to spend a year fulfilling a number of conditions.
Sounds a bit too grindy, especially since by the time you enter the invasion phase, you would've probably finished most of the arcs or can't be bothered to deal with minor missions or several landing/crash sites at once

hi, great mod, really like how not only adds stuff from other XCOM games but also paranormal and other sci-fi elements

though i have a question, is the late game grind a placeholder until the remaining arcs are completed? what about the spawn rates for the "final" missions?

Open Feedback / Autopsies, the cold, stiff truth
« on: August 22, 2021, 04:39:33 am »
Hello, I'm new to the forum and OldCom in general.  :P

I've been meaning to ask if autopsies did anything other than unlocking lore and maybe a tip on how to do deal with that alien. I've seen some people online say once you do it, you increase the damage dealt to that specific type because you "learned" where its vital organs are, but it is never mentioned in the manual and such so it could be just a rumor. I know some autopsies(ie: Deep Ones) in TFTD unlock certain research topics.

So does slicing and playing with greys's insides do anything meaningful?
