I'm wondering what music people prefer to pirate to. 

I've decided that unfortunately Alestorm didn't quite fit and Finntroll somehow does, and the standard drone music of X-Com is slightly inappropriate but still fits.

Seems a little odd to have Squire be specifically masculine in this case.  I know there isn't currently a female equivalent but I imagine that the Gals would call a young female in the same situation a Squire as well.

I think we should be able to find and buy a box of assorted junk, which would be the buyable resource that gets us clothes, extract it to get some clothing and scraps of cloth that are only good for bandages and maybe some other bits and pieces of whatever.  Unfortunately, I suspect that it's not currently possible to have an extractable item give semi random stuff, but if that were possible, I'd love boxes of random junk that might have useful things in it, but is only guaranteed to have at least 1 bundle of clothes and at least 1 set of bandages.

Does earning commendations give your hands anything concrete? such as bonus stats, naturally limited by their actual capacity, or bonus notoriety for your group in general?

Incidentally, I'd put a huge bonus on missing in action one and the died stupidly/heroically ones, just because I'm apparently a troll.  8)

I believe it is, the range of your airbus is just a bit sucky, as is its radar and flight speed.
However, unless you've researched the mutant alliance, you aren't penalized for being unable to get there or just plain ignoring it.  You will be penalized normally for landing and immediately leaving, though.

I assume that the crackdowns not applying to landed ships is due to them having no clue who did it, there aren't any survivors at that point to say who you are and no maydays from a crashing ship, the ship and crew just go silent.

Maybe ransomed crew could give information, especially if your hands are careless with information(which they likely are), so perhaps heavy ransoming might lead to small crackdowns, with research related to actually keeping hidden lowering and eventually removing that chance.

Incidentally, any chance of there being different sized crackdowns based on how big a threat they actually think you are?

It also mentioned that the Gyrojet was rushed and it didn't look like the tech was really explored.  But honestly the only benefit here would be the extremely light guns, for your pansy swabbies, and that's only somewhat useful.

I'd like to see what we could do with the Gyrojet now, with a proper budget and time to work on it, but Piratez is not the place for that bit.  Flechette rounds though...

You might have noticed that the research names that we see and the ones in the ruleset are a bit different, same goes for weapons.  So most likely it's doable.

I had two ideas today: the first is to have some sort of gyrojet weapon, based on a quick check on wikipedia  :) it would do its best damage at mid range, the gun would be light and probably easy to make, while the bullets possibly could be heavier and difficult to manufacture.

The second, for if we end up with aquatic missions is loosely related, I found out that there are guns designed for underwater use, they generally shoot flechettes.  Makes me wonder why X-Com went with spear guns and dart guns, as these appear to a bit superior.

Might have figured out the speargun thing, effective range apparently goes down the deeper you go with the underwater firearms.
