Hi Hobbes,

Firstly thank you for making this awesome mod.

One thing I don't particularly like is in one of the new missions where you have to retrieve the data disk from the underground bunker and take it to the exit area. There is only a small staircase to reach the surface. Unfortunately I bought a HWP tank to the mission and now I will lose it because it can't reach the surface.

Damn I lost 8/10 of my team to androids and specters.

"A civilian ship has been hijacked by the aliens and it is currently heading at full speed towards a heavily populated area.{NEWLINE}The ship's navigation systems on its bridge must be destroyed in 25 turns to disable the ship and prevent a possible catastrophe.  To quit, place XCom operatives into the craft or exit area and click on the 'Abort Mission' icon."

You need to destroy all those white consoles on the ship's bridge

Howdy! I have been slowly playing through my first area 51 run and just ran across this same mission. After a lot of high explosives the bridge is pretty well toasted(pic related) yet the mission persists. I saved a test game where I retreated and the game told me the ship was still running and deducted 500 points. I tried more bombing to no avail. Have I missed something?

This is likely why your mission didn't finish: there's an additional nav console in the captain's quarters, in addition to those located at the bridge.



I'll edit the briefing to mention this console as well

I've just discovered that it is a bug - those consoles have the wrong flag set so it's basically impossible to win the mission by destroying the objective (you can still win by killing all aliens)

Also, you only need to destroy 5 of those consoles, not all of them (this is why the console on the captain's quarters isn't mentioned on the briefing)

I just uploaded a fix to this to version 0.963

Haha yeah, some of the enemies are very hard to kill if you don't have the right tech, and the difficulty of assault missions are like a roller coaster sometimes. But that's just make it more exciting, you never know what you're getting into!
