Hi Hobbes,

Firstly thank you for making this awesome mod.

One thing I don't particularly like is in one of the new missions where you have to retrieve the data disk from the underground bunker and take it to the exit area. There is only a small staircase to reach the surface. Unfortunately I bought a HWP tank to the mission and now I will lose it because it can't reach the surface.

Hey there and thanks :)

I've noticed this issue but couldn't decide how it could be fixed - will look into it, thanks

Hi again Hobbes,

How do I complete the ship mission "USO detected by civilian ship"? The briefing says I need to reach the bridge in 25 turns. There doesn't seen to be anything to interact with once I reach the bridge?

Damn I lost 8/10 of my team to androids and specters.

"DESTROY MISSION LINERSHIP"

"A civilian ship has been hijacked by the aliens and it is currently heading at full speed towards a heavily populated area.{NEWLINE}The ship's navigation systems on its bridge must be destroyed in 25 turns to disable the ship and prevent a possible catastrophe.  To quit, place XCom operatives into the craft or exit area and click on the 'Abort Mission' icon."

You need to destroy all those white consoles on the ship's bridge

Howdy! I have been slowly playing through my first area 51 run and just ran across this same mission. After a lot of high explosives the bridge is pretty well toasted(pic related) yet the mission persists. I saved a test game where I retreated and the game told me the ship was still running and deducted 500 points. I tried more bombing to no avail. Have I missed something?

This is likely why your mission didn't finish: there's an additional nav console in the captain's quarters, in addition to those located at the bridge.

I'll edit the briefing to mention this console as well

I had blown it up earlier and there was no change. I reloaded and blew it up again for good measure with no results. I've included a save in case that helps.

I've just discovered that it is a bug - those consoles have the wrong flag set so it's basically impossible to win the mission by destroying the objective (you can still win by killing all aliens)

Also, you only need to destroy 5 of those consoles, not all of them (this is why the console on the captain's quarters isn't mentioned on the briefing)

I just uploaded a fix to this to version 0.963

  - type: SPACEFARER_WEAPON_STUN
    damageType: 2

  - type: SPACEFARER_WEAPON_IN
    damageType: 2

latest version (0.963).
shouldn't the first be "damageType: 6" ?

As far as I could see into that mod: It is a great work.

But balance good be better at some points. Some enemies need nerfing.

Haha yeah, some of the enemies are very hard to kill if you don't have the right tech, and the difficulty of assault missions are like a roller coaster sometimes. But that's just make it more exciting, you never know what you're getting into!

Just went through the game for the first time.
I feel like writing a short feedback:

Game adds a lot of interesting content. Especially the  council missions give a lot variety.
Sadly in late game those vanish due to the massive UFO apparition.

There are some interesting late game weapons like the plasma assault canon, that you -SPOILER - get after the Cydonia research. But that doesn`t make any real difference anymore, once you can fly the Cydonia nevertheless.
-Spoiler - off

Very interesting are the new enemies like the Gazer, the Phasor and some more.
They keep the game hard even after maxed out research.

In the beginning, it might appear like a balance issue, since whether you haven`t got the right weapon tier to fight some of the new aliens or simply don`t know, what weapon to take against them.

Yes, the pedia tells you most about the weaknesses, but still you have to beat them at least once to get the revealing pedia entry. Better it would be, to get to know the weakness somehow before having the trouble of killing those new enemies.

In absolute endgame, when you have 100skilled PSI warriors, you cand handle the new enemies rather without real problem but the armoured sectopod. Him, he remains to having no weakness at all but the blaster launcher.
But I don`t know, if I would call that last one a ballancing issue, since you can expect at this point of the game, to have an enemy out there, being capable to kill your heavy armored troops.

All in all, a great mod, that I will surely play again and can recommend it to every one out there, willing to take some pain in the beginning.

Maybe capturing and interrogating medics would gove the info? I could not capture them yet though :(

You always have the tools available when those new aliens appear. Incendiary rounds are available from the beginning (for Phasers) and AP rounds as well for Overlords. You can later get better AP/IN weapons but you can defeat both types of aliens.

Wouldn't it spoil the horror/powerlessness that are a part of the original game? When you first played it, you didn't know that Mutons have increased resistance to AP weapons or that Reapers are vulnerable to Incendiary rounds until you unlock their autopsies, not to mention what Chryssalids can do your troops.
