Battlescape development
Daiky:
Wanted to note that from tomorrow I'm on holiday for a week, so if you write me a PM and I don't answer within a week you don't have to panic ;-)
michal:
Daiky, what's next in your plans? After you did basic salvaging?
( I'm asking here, cause i think it's more proper thread for talking about battlescape development ;) )
Daiky:
I recently found a copy of the book "Art of Game design": http://artofgamedesign.com/
it's really a great book, so in my free time I'm going to read that.
And other than that I'll just play openxcom a bit and see what is missing and then implement that missing part. I'm going to check if personal armor works in battlescape, I think not. So that might be next.
michal:
As for missing parts, maybe it would be nice to have somewhere (on wiki?) described working / missing features?
For example items:
ItemBattlescapeResearchManufactureUfopaediaLaser pistolYesYesYesYesPersonal armourYesNoNoNo
Battlescape features:
FeatureImplementedShootingYesDyingYesLiftsNoPsi controlNo
Intersecption features:
FeatureImplementedShooting UFOYesShooting X-com interceptorNo
etc
Requires much work to describe everything. Also requires updating of such lists / tables. On the bright side everyone could know how far OpenXcom project is advanced.
Daiky:
Hmm, nice it is.
But, all the people in the entire openxcom development team already normally keep changelog.txt up to date. I think I forgot to do it the last time. Hope I don't get spanked by the project manager :p
But seriously, I thought that file was an list of what is in a current release, isn't creating another table of it not double work? Also, we don't know a detailed list of what is to-do.
